Introducing… Adrian Tomaszewski, MSA Associate

Want to know more about the people behind McKenzie Strickland Associates? Read on to meet our remarkable Associate, Adrian Tomaszewski.

Adrian joined McKenzie Strickland Associates (MSA) in 2021, armed with a Master of Architecture degree from the University of Dundee.  He began his architectural career working in Glasgow’s retail and commercial sectors, before refining his expertise in residential design, conversions, and conservation projects at an award-winning practice in Dundee.

Adrian’s expertise lies in delivering well-designed, high-quality spaces that align with client needs and project goals. He has contributed to a diverse range of residential, commercial, and heritage restoration projects across Scotland, including the restoration of the East Gate House at Taymouth Estate. Working closely with clients throughout the design, planning and construction phases, Adrian ensures a smooth, transparent process that turns concepts into tangible, well-executed spaces.

Adrian’s approach to design is rooted in the functionality and efficiency of space, inspired by his appreciation for brutalist architecture, where form follows function. His ability to balance practical asks with aesthetic vision ensures that every project meets both user and client expectations.

Adrian finds great satisfaction in the creative process of each project. With every client and project offering unique opportunities and challenges, no two days are the same, and he thrives on finding creative solutions to overcome them.

His motivation comes from seeing a project evolve from the initial concept to its final realisation. One notable project was the East Gatehouse at Taymouth Estate. Through careful surveying, design, and detailing, Adrian took great joy in giving the building a new purpose while repairing and preserving its historical fabric.
