Artistry, Heritage, and Teamwork: A Conversation with Mahi Jain
Bringing a global perspective to her work, Mahi Jain is passionate about crafting meaningful architecture that blends innovation with heritage. A graduate of the University of Dundee, Mahi has worked across India, Singapore, and Zurich, contributing to residential, religious, and educational projects. Since joining MSA in 2022, she has played a pivotal role in managing complex projects and coordinating multidisciplinary teams, always ensuring thoughtful stakeholder engagement and successful project outcomes.
Recognised for her excellence in the APEAS Part 3 exams, Mahi now serves on the board as a newly qualified architect. She is actively deepening her expertise in building conservation, accreditation, and construction management — areas that reflect her commitment to both technical rigour and cultural responsibility.
“My favourite part about being an architect is working collaboratively with other disciplines in the field,” Mahi says. “One day, you’re with structural engineers; the next, you’re learning from an ecologist. There’s never a dull moment and always something new to learn.”
One of Mahi’s recent highlights has been working on the restoration of Taymouth Castle — a project that beautifully encapsulated her passions. “It was an incredible experience,” she reflects. “Beyond the strategic architectural responses and engineering challenges, what truly made it special were the contributions of highly specialised artists. Seeing the stained-glass windows and mural ceilings brought back to life through their craft was deeply inspiring.”
Detail-driven and dedicated to regenerative and conservation architecture, Mahi is committed to delivering sustainable, community-focused solutions that not only meet client needs but also preserve cultural heritage for future generations.
