DIA Awards 2016
McKenzie Stickland Associates (MSA) awarded top prize for best commercial/non domestic project at the 2016 Dundee Institute of Architects (DIA) Award ceremony.
MSA won the coveted award for their work on the Hot Box Sauna – Scotland’s first loch-side wood-burning sauna – which can be located at Taymouth Marina.
Located in Kenmore, Perthshire, the Hot Box is an innovative structure and is one of the UK’s largest saunas stretching some 40 feet (12.19m), with panoramic views across the loch to the adjacent hills.
Eric Strickland, Director & Founder of MSA was thrilled with the award. ‘To be recognised and awarded for all our hard efforts with the Hot Box Sauna project is a fantastic feeling. We love what we do and relish at the thought of any architectural projects anyone may have.’
Over 170 guests attended the awards ceremony which was held at Best Western Invercarse Hotel, Dundee.
The DIA or Dundee Institute of Architects is one of six Chapters of the Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland.
It was conceived by Architects from Dundee, in 1884 and has grown to represent an area stretching from Anstruther in the East to Loch Earn in the West, and Glenrothes in the South to Blair Atholl in the North.
The DIA celebrated its 132th anniversary in 2016.
